Ans Kaushambi was one of the six
most prosperous towns during the ancient India. It was the historic capital of
the Mahajanapada of Vatsa and seat of the
famous king Udayana. It was
geographically well located and was connected with major regions in India. The
archaeological evidences point towards the presence of a huge prosperous city
during the ancient times. Excavations consist of the Ashokan Pillar and the Ghositarma. Monastery along
