Ans: Part of land which has natural vegetation
without any human interference is called forests.

Ans: 23.81% of total geographical land of India
is covered by forests. India stands at 10th position for the most
forested country in the world.

Ans: It is because population lives in plains
and there is no forest where human beings live.

Ans: 1. The govt of India has set up wildlife
and bird sanctuaries and national parks to protect animals and birds. We have
89 national parks, 490 wildlife sanctuaries to protect animals and birds.
2. There are various projects to save lives of
certain animals such as Project Tiger, Project Elephant etc.
3. First week of October, every year is
observed as ‘Wildlife week’ to accelerate the awareness of wildlife
conservation among people.
