Format of Writing a Notice

1. Draw a box.
2. Write the name of the school, organisation or place.
3. The date will appear on the left side below the name of the organization.
4. The word notice will appear in the centre.
5. The title/heading will appear in the centre below the word notice.
6. The body of the notice should include:

• What is going to happen- the event
• Where it will take place- the venue
• When it will take place- date and time
• Who can be benefited- the participants
• Whom to contact- Name of the authorized person issuing the notice

     (Remember to keep the 5 W’s in mind.)

      7.Name of the Signatory and Designation

Sample Notice

You are the sports secretary of your school. Draft a notice in not more than 50 words for your school’s notice board asking the students to give their names for participation in various events to be held on the Annual Sports Day of your school.

6. Diary Writing

Points To Remember

1.A diary entry is made to record any reason that interests you. It could be a good experience, a learning, a bad experience, a secret, etc. 

2.The style and tone of writing is informal.

3.The salutation can be ‘Dear Diary’ or any name by which you would choose to address your diary.

4. Describe the events/experience/feeling/emotions giving relevant details. 

5.When making an entry, ensure to write the events in a logical order.

6 Use time connectors – today, yesterday, morning, noon, night, etc. 

7.Use other sentence connectors to link the events like first, second, late, etc. 

8.It is a secret of one’s life, so one can be very honest about one’s feelings and emotions

9.In the signature mention only writer’s name. It should not contain ‘yours lovingly’ or ‘yours faithfully.’
